Across Barriers is aimed at improving the wellbeing and social participation of new migrant
families in schools.
It is a partnership between Space2b and local schools in the City of Port Phillip.
By informing students about refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants they will be
inspired to welcome and connect new migrants to their local community.
Across Barriers is a continuation of Space2b’s ‘100 Stripey Monkeys’, community inclusion and awareness program – We all deserve to feel safe and Happy!
With support from The City of Port Phillip, we are working with the following three schools:
Christian Brothers College, St Kilda, CBC
Presentation College, Windsor, PCW and
St Kilda Primary School, SKPS.
Coffee & Community
City of Port Philip has a number of newly arrived families that are living in transient housing until they find permanent homes.
Space2b runs coffee mornings where these families are invited to come and share food and stories with local families from the school.
This haas been kindly funded by the South Melbourne Community Chest.
